Personal Greeting

We are surrounded by children who have been abandoned; many who question their own identity.  As I considered how best to respond to these challenges I was reminded that we can know no abandonment greater than that which Jesus experienced.  God has promised His faithfulness to us.  Jesus, on the cross, had to experience the loss of what we take for granted – God.  On the other hand because of Jesus’ sacrifice we are brothers and sisters in God’s royal family.  It does not matter our color, tribe or language.  We belong to God.  My challenge then became how to help instill this promise into the hearts and mind of all the children that I have a chance to influence on a daily basis. How powerful His word, “Once you were not a people , but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. “1Peter2.10-11

Thank you, Lord that our identity comes from you!  I remain humbled and grateful for the prayers lifted on my behalf. I praise God each day for you!

What’s Next

  • Whew, we are to the end of school already. Our end of school year celebration is November 20th.
  • Ms. Sandy will return to the USA in time for Thanksgiving.
  • Ms. Jillian will finish out the school year and then she will be on her way back to North Dakota.  We are so grateful for the sacrifice of time, talents and money that these volunteers offer.
  • The Graham family will be in court on the 1st of November defending the rights of the four San children that are temporarily placed with them.  I have included a separate letter from Steve Graham giving the details of these children.  We need prayer and financial help as this case has potentially become a landmark case.
  • Our search for teachers for 2013 has begun in earnest and we need wisdom as we make appointments.
  • Ms. Uschi is with us again working alongside Amanda to assist incorporating some Montessori ideas into our pre-school classroom.
  • We are trusting God for the finance shortage to be met so that we can complete the two new classrooms before the end of the year.  SHOFAR Church in Swakopmund is looking at ways they might help us.

Specific Needs

Teachers who are committed to lerner centered teaching are always in need.

We pray for the details of the school year end to progress smoothly.

Charmaine has decided to move out on her own and has relocated to Swakopmund.  May God protect her and may her heart remain pure.

Continue to pray for Sannetjie who has now been expelled from her school indefinitely.

Annetjie remains in a children’s home and is trying to live within the boundaries and rules.

The adoption process for the Grahams of Mcshal and Irene is under way.  May God protect the process and bring it to fruition unhindered.

Pray for the outcome of the court case concerning the San children per attached letter from Steve.  May God’s mercy prevail.  Prayer and financial support is needed.  Donations can be sent to His Promise Ministries, 1106 Old Mill Run, Deland, Florida 32720.  Mark the check: San Children

  • Our friends from Germany visited in October.  They came loaded with encouragement.  A few of our children had the opportunity to meet their sponsors.  They also brought us 4 laptops from full of learning programs.  We have been using one at my house and we have found programs for everyone.
  • I am especially excited and thankful for Janis and Stefanus.  We found the birth parents of Janis and Stefanus and made a trip to Okahandja to visit them.   (mother in middle of photo, father in back with beard, and birth sister behind Janis.) Not much has changed in the life of the birth parents since 14 years ago when the boys were deserted.  It was important to Janis and Stefanus though to see them and we thank God we found them.
  • Thank  you, Lord for the seemingly endless trail of volunteers who come sporadically throughout each year.
  • Under the tutelage of Ms. Anna, Stefanus has started to read!!  We are so excited for him!!

Personal Prayer Request

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2. May I remain faithful in His knowledge.   In His love, Brenda
