Personal Greeting

Janus, Stefanus and Hailey“…not by man’s desire or effort but by God’s grace.” Romans 9.16  Before leaving Namibia my burden was feeling very heavy….I was trying to do much in my own effort.  During my time here in America God has reinforced in me that it is His burden and it is my body, mind and soul that he needs.  I praise God for the spiritual and emotional refreshment I received during our visits with family and friends.  My life has been blessed by people over the years who continue to be part of my inner circle and partners in the ministry to which I am called.  I missed visiting with many this trip and yet I saw and spent time with many as well.  My children have experienced God’s creation from the warm to the cold!  Hailey, Stefanus and Janus Life, as we know it, is a short sojourn on the road to eternity. As a new year begins, may God grant his grace and mercy in your life Thank you for remaining a faithful partner to God’s children in Namibia! Read the rest of this entry

My Thoughts

“Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed.” 1Peter 4:13,14

As I sit down to write this, I am filled with regret that it has been so long since I last sent out a newsletter. It is so easy to fall into Satan’s trap when we don’t live up to our own expectations or the perceived expectations of others. I am truly blessed that the Lord has walked with me over the last few months and carried me on numerous occasions when my strength waned.

Elizabeth was in and out of the hospital from October 22 through November 8. They originally thought she had the contagious form of spinal meningitis. She ran a very high fever for ten days and her neck locked up. It was very frightening. The final prognosis was a very bad case of the h1n1 flu. She had to have four different spinal taps. The first two were done without any anesthesia. It was also discovered that she had a fistula on her spine, an opening on an old scar, that was very serious and it had to be closed surgically.

January 2011 – Graham Family

As we reflect upon 2010 and look forward to what the Lord has for us in 2011, I rejoice in His promise that we highlighted in our Christ-mas Card/Email – to NEVER leave us, nor for-sake us.

What comfort we can have in that, loved ones! If we are in Christ His word says that NOTHING can separate us from His love! One thing I can always say at the end of each year is God saw us through and the one thing I always know for certain about the future of the new year is that God will see us through. Praise be to our omnipotent, forever loving, compassionate Father!

It has been a year of learning and growing. We have been learning to live together and love each other as our family expands.

Personal Greeting

My family and I send greetings in this newsletter from the soil of the USA!  Janis, Stefanus, Hailey and I have been blessed by fellowship, prayer, and love from friends and family since our arrival the beginning of December.  God is good.  When in the midst of my every day responsibilities in Namibia, I do not realize how drained I am emotionally, physically and spiritually.   Coming back to the embrace of ministry friends and family has, however, made me very aware of how much of a desert I live in physically and spiritually.  I am so grateful to God for the encouragement and love that has embraced my family and me. On a daily basis God is giving me glimpses of His presence while my peace and joy are seeping back into my soul.  I met Janis and Stefanus when they were 18 months old and now they will be 13 in March.  You have been a partner and friend for all this time.  Thank you for staying faithful!  I praise God for the part you play in my life!  I can not continue on any level without you – I need your prayers, your love, your fellowship, and your financial care.  As I am overwhelmed in Namibia with the need, poverty, hopelessness that surrounds me, I am overwhelmed here with love!  Praise God that His plan for His people is to care for one another.  I am very blessed!!
